Rev. David Butler, pastor of First Parish Congregational Church in Gorham, will trade pastor duties with Rev. Patrick Towers, rector of St. Nicholas Church in Galway, Ireland, for two months beginning in May.

Butler and his wife, Maureen, will stay in Towers home and he in theirs. They will even look after each other’s two dogs,

Butler said St. Nicholas, an Anglican church built in 1300, is the oldest in Galway. The First Parish in Gorham was built in 1798.

Towers will visit First Parish in September.
