A free training session to show landlords, developers and project managers how to adopt a smoke-free policy in their multi-unit residential buildings will be held Thursday, June 28, at Southern Maine Community College, from 3-5:30 p.m.

The session is offered by the Communities Promoting Health Coalition at the People’s Regional Opportunity Program, in partnership with the Smoke-Free Housing Coalition of Maine.

The training, thought to be the first of its kind in the area, will educate those with multi-unit buildings on implementing the legal, cost-effective smoke-free policy in their apartment buildings and communities. The agenda includes presentations by the Smoke-Free Housing Coalition of Maine on issues related to second-hand smoke in multi-unit buildings and how to avoid tenant exposure by adopting a smoke-free policy.
