Linda Pulsoni has been a lifelong resident of Buxton, and lives in the Bar Mills end of town. She is the wife of Buxton police Officer Frank Pulsoni.

Pulsoni admits that her husband’s career as a police officer has been the reason she has stayed out of town politics so far.

“Frank was so involved, I stayed on the outside,” she said.

But she feels that’s the attitudes toward couples’ dual involvement in town affairs have changed. She cited potential candidates who considered running in recent years for positions on the same boards as their spouses.

“If spouses can take out papers and sit on the same board, then why can’t I take out papers and have Frank be a police officer?” said Pulsoni.

Pulsoni does not think that there would be conflict of interest if she is elected.

“We don’t have to talk about the town of Buxton 24/7. I don’t see why it would be a conflict of interest,” she said.

When asked why she is interested in the position of selectman, Pulsoni said she has a lot to offer the town of Buxton.

“I feel I can be an asset to the town. There’s a lot to do here and I want to be involved,” said Pulsoni. “We need news ideas and people to help.”

Pulsoni also feels town politics are in her blood. She says her father, Don Warren, has always been deeply invested town affairs.

“My father has been incredibly involved with the town my whole life, so I always felt very connected,” she said.

Regarding the proposed $1.8 million for a new town garage, Pulsoni is wary of spending such a high amount of money.

“I want a new garage, that’s not a question. They need to have the proper equipment to make it safe. Are we spending extra money for things we don’t need? Do we really have to spend $1.8 million?” Pulsoni asked.

Pulsoni is looking forward to the Tuesday elections with anticipation.

“It’s a big challenge, but like I said, it’s my time,” she said.

Pulsoni works for GPX International, formerly Maine Rubber International. She has been working in customer service there for 27 years.

She was also an EMT and a driver for the rescue unit in the earl 1980s. After her son Michael, now 21, came along, she was a Cub Scout leader.
