Bonny Eagle High School Principal Robert Strong last week announced the top academic students from the class of 2007. The top students, listed in alphabetical order and not in order of finish, are as follows:

Rebecca Bartlett

Rebecca Bartlett is the daughter of Susan and Ross Bartlett of Limington. Rebecca was in the National Honor Society, Foreign Language Honor Society, Drama Club, Thespian Society, Model United Nations, newspaper, was a Regional Fine Arts participant and a Student Mentor. She was awarded the Sophomore English Award, Junior Government Award, Kiwanis Award of Academic Excellence (three years), NextGen Most Improved Student Award, and was a National Merit Scholarship Commended Scholar. Rebecca plans to attend the University of Maine to double major in secondary education and political science. She hopes to teach social studies.

Andrew Cardamone

Andrew Cardamone, son of Pamela and Michael of Hollis, has been active in the National Honor Society (historian), class secretary, president of the Thespian Society, Model United Nations, Natural Helpers, newspaper, Key Club, Drama Club, Improv Troupe, Regional Fine Arts participant and Boys State participant. Andrew received the Freshman English Award, Lab Earth Science award, November 2005 Key Club Member of the Month, St. Michael’s College Book Award, AP U.S. History Award, Kiwanis, state acting award, Award of Academic Excellence (three times), three regional acting awards and National Honor Roll. He will be attending Bowdoin College in the fall to major in history, with a minor in education.

Alanna Conn

Alanna Conn is the daughter of Jackie and Tim Conn of Buxton. While at Bonny Eagle, she has been active in the National Honor Society and the Foreign Language Honor Society. She participated in cross country and track. She received the Mock Trial Outstanding Lawyer Award, was Foreign Language Honor Society vice president, and the cross country Most Improved for 2003. She will attend Roger Williams University.

Alex Coulling

Alex Coulling is the son of Pam and Keith Coulling of Hollis. Alex was involved in the Foreign Language Honor Society, T-Cell (AIDS awareness) and Concert Band. He was a member of the soccer team. Alex received High Honors. He plans to attend the University of Maine and study electrical engineering.

Alyssa Dunn

Alyssa Dunn is the daughter of Cynthia and Glenn Spaulding of Standish. She has been active in the National Honor Society (secretary), Student Council (secretary), T-Cell, Prom Committee, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Pep Band and Project Graduation. She participated in field hockey, ice hockey and softball. She was on the SMAA First Team Field Hockey, MVP Field Hockey, All Academic Field Hockey and Ice Hockey. Alyssa was All Conference Team in ice hockey, SMAA Second Team Softball, softball captain, Maine State Sports Hall of Fame Inductee and Female Junior Scholar-Athlete. Alyssa plans to attend St. Joseph’s College and major in elementary education.

Zachery Goucher

Zachery Goucher is the son of Brenda and Peter Goucher of Hollis. While in high school, Zachery has been active in the Foreign Language Honor Society, PAALS (People Against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) and Prom Committee. He played on the football and baseball teams. He was named Scholar Athlete (Grade 9) and SMAA All Academic Team Football. He will attend Drexel University for civil engineering.

Lucas Lampron

Lucas Lampron is the son of Alana and Donald Lampron of Standish. At Bonny Eagle he participated in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. He played freshman, junior varsity and varsity football. He received Highest Honors and the Columbia University Award. Lucas plans to attend the University of New England for pharmacy.

Lyndie Libby

Lyndie Libby is the daughter of Pennie and Jeffrey Libby of Buxton. She has been active in the National Honor Society and Foreign Language Honor Society. She played varsity basketball, soccer and freshman softball. Lyndie had Highest Honors four years, numerous class awards, Kiwanis Academic Achievement Awards and athletic awards. She will attend the University of New England, majoring in sports medicine.

Brian McLaughlin

Brian McLaughlin is the son of Susan and Charles McLaughlin of Standish. He has been active in the Math Team, National Honor Society and was a School Mentor. He was on the cross- country team, indoor track team, and played junior varsity and varsity baseball. He was the freshman, sophomore and junior Math Award winner, won the French III Award, the Scholar Athlete Award, Sportsmanship Award for baseball and the St. Joseph’s College Book Award. Brian plans to attend the University Of Maine and major in mechanical engineering.

Shannon Piecuch

Shannon Piecuch is the daughter of Jane and Alan Piecuch of Buxton. She has been active in Key Club, and as a Student Mentor. Shannon received the Smith College Book Award, was a National Merit Commended Student, and a four-year high honor student. She is attending the University of Massachusetts and hopes to earn a degree in animal science and to study English and creative writing.

Stephanie Pomerleau

Stephanie Pomerleau is the daughter of Debra and Michael Pomerleau of Buxton. She has participated in the National Honor Society, Foreign Language Honor Society, Student Mentors, Wind Ensemble and Pep Band. She received the Lab Chemistry Award, Spanish IV Award, Freshman Band Award, Honors English 9 Award, was nominated for the Maine Princeton Book Award, and is a Who’s Who Among American High School Students. She will attend the University of Southern Maine’s Teachers for Elementary and Middle Schools Program, majoring in general sciences.

Crystal Stack

Crystal Stack is the daughter of Susannah and Donald Stack of Buxton. She has been active in the National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, Student Mentors, Key Club, class officer, Youth in Government, student office aide, and the Mock Trial Team. Crystal received the DAR Good Citizen Award, was captain of the Mock Trial Team, and FBLA Freshman of the Year. She is going to Southern Maine Community College and majoring in nursing and paramedicine.

Katherine Thomas

Katherine Thomas is the daughter of Gloria and Allen Thomas of Buxton. She has been active in the Math Team, National Honor Society, Natural Helpers, Thespian Society, Recycle Club, Student Council, Drama Club and Pep Band. She was on the cross-country team, indoor track team, basketball team, and tennis teams. Katherine was awarded the Maine Principal’s Award, William’s College Book Award, was chorus president and in the All State Music Festival and District Music Festival. She was named to the SMAA All-Stars for cross country, and chosen to sing the National Anthem at sporting events. She plans to attend the University of Southern Maine to study music education.

Stephanie Yum

Stephanie Yum is the daughter of Michele and Christopher Yum of Buxton. She has been active in the Math Team, Robotics Team, National Honor Society, Student Mentor, Drama Club, Thespian Society, Foreign Language Honor Society, Model United Nations and Regional Fine Arts. She was on the outdoor track team. Katherine was awarded the Phi Beta Kappa Award, Girls State, Williams College Book Award, Latin II Award, Standish Kiwanis Club Honors Recognition. Stephanie is going to the University of Maine to study computer science and chemical engineering.
