The Book Club at Windham Public Library meets regularly and is open to the public. New members are always welcome.
The book, “The Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister” by Greg Maguire will be discussed at the Tuesday, May 29 meeting of the Book Club.
June’s meeting will be Thursday, June 28 and the topic book will be “One Thousand White Women: The Journals of May Dodd” by Jim Fergus. This intriguing title is about an Indian request in 1854 for 1,000 white brides to ensure peace. The request is secretly approved by the United States government. Their journey west is described by may Dodd, a high-society woman released from an asylum where she was incarcerated by her family for an affair.
