I urge everyone to vote no on the appointment of the city clerk. This is one more “voice of the citizens” they want to take away. Everyone knows how appointed people never get “fired,” no matter what kind of a job we think they are doing.
Electing the city clerk is a privilege the voters have. If the majority of people think they have a good clerk, then they can re-elect them. If not, they have the option of electing a different one. Let’s not let the city officials take that right away.
We know they don’t listen to people if they complain about anything going on in the city. Let’s not give them the opportunity to run this position like everything else.
Vote NO on the city clerk (blue ballot).
