The Lake Region baseball team squandered a 4-0 lead at Cape Elizabeth on Tuesday and the Lakers lost a 9-4 decision.

The Lakers scored a run in the first and three in the third to take a 4-0 lead. But the Capers bounced back with two in the third and five in the fourth to overtake the visitors.

Earlier in the week, the Lakers dropped a 10-0 five-inning game at Wells. James Mannion had three RBIs for the Warriors.

The Lakers could only muster four hits against Wells’ starter Sam Morse. Lake’s Scott Osmond started on the mound and he was relieved by Brandon Chase and Brian Chute.

Keith Rickett had a double for the Lakers.

Lake Region is now 0-4 and they were scheduled to host Sacopee Valley on Wednesday, May 2.

Windham keeps winning

The Windham baseball team picked up two wins in a row against Marshwood and Noble. The Eagles defeated the Hawks, 2-1, and took down the Knights, 12-10, in action from the past week.

Nick DeRice had four RBIs against Noble including a three-run double in a five-run fourth inning. Josh Lundquist added a double and a triple for the Eagles.

Windham scored six runs in the top of the first and needed every one of them as the Knights racked up some runs of their own.

In their previous contest with Marshwood, the Eagles scored two runs on just four hits and pitcher Dan Williams made it stick with a six-hit three-strikeout performance.

The Eagles are 4-1 after their first five games. They were scheduled to host Massabesic on Thursday, May 3.

The Scots were scheduled to host Portland on Thursday.
