Starting Sunday at 10 a.m., Scarborough Fish & Game Association will be open for sporting clays on the first and third Sunday of every month.

The clay target-shooting sports have been regaining popularity. The original game was called Trap, making reference to the machine that launches the clay birds.

The sport is a opportunity for shotgun shooters to improve their skills or learn the basics of saefety and proper gun handing.

In additon to trapshooting, other disciplines at the club are archery, pistol, rifle and sporting clays. Courses are also offered in hunter safety and home firearm safety. The club is open to the membership seven days a week from 8 a.m. until dark.

The club is located at 70 Holmes Road, across from Beech Ridge Speedway. For more information, contact Lisa Glidden
