SAD 6 budget hearing schedule
School Administrative District 6 has announced its schedule of public hearings for the proposed school budget.
The district will meet with Buxton citizens at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, in the town hall on Portland Road; Standish, 6 p.m., Tuesday, May 15, Standish municipal building; Limington, 6 p.m., Thursday, May 17, Limington Municipal Complex; Hollis, 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 23, Hollis Community Building; and Frye Island, 11 a.m., Saturday, May 26, Frye Island Community Center.
Bonny Eagle night crew honored
A unique honor flag was recently raised at Bonny Eagle High School.
Instead of students, the flag was raised to honor the night custodial crew at the school. Under the direction of team leader Jenifer Cable, the night crew for some time has been collecting cans and bottles left in the building. They have used $200 from their collection for a scholarship for a student who is part of the Foreign Language Club’s upcoming trip to Guatemala.
They are giving the funds to a student who has been especially polite and cooperative with them. The honor flag recognized the crew for its generous act and the positive example that the crew has provided for others in the school.
