The Cape Elizabeth boys lacrosse team has bounced back from a season-opening loss and won two straight games. The Capers scored a confidence-building 9-5 win over longtime nemesis Yarmouth in Cape on Saturday afternoon. Mike Ott led the charge with three goals for the Capers.
Cape also earned an 8-4 win at Falmouth on Wednesday, April 25, with Brendan Nicholas and Zach Belden each scoring a pair of goals.
Cape Elizabeth travels to Waynflete on Friday.
Strong start for Red Storm
The defending Class A state champs from Scarborough have started the year with two straight wins – a 14-0 shutout of Westbrook last Friday and a 12-2 win over Deering on Tuesday, April 24.
Jake Barrett was the top goal scorer for the Storm in their win over the Blazes.
Andy Clark and Ryan Hunt had big offensive days for the Storm with each player scoring four goals.
Scarborough was scheduled to face Portland on Tuesday, May 1.
South Portland looks to rebound
The Red Riots look to bounce back from last week’s 14-11 loss to Deering. South Portland had already loss to a solid Kennebunk team by a 10-6 score as they open the year at 0-2.
South Portland’s multiple goal scorers against Deering were Eugene Arsenault (4), Sean Murray (3), and John Linscott (2).
The Riots were scheduled to face-off with Westbrook on Tuesday, May 1.
