The Bonny Eagle softball team took advantage of seven wild pitches and eight walks to topple Marshwood, 7-1, on Tuesday afternoon. The Scots loaded the bases in the sixth and scored on three consecutive wild pitches.

Messina Provencher, Krista Sulsbury and Alyssa Dunn each had a pair of hits for the Scots who improved to 4-1 with the win.

Pitcher Maddie Kluna allowed just one run and three hits to improve to 1-1.

The Scots were scheduled to host Windham on Wednesday, May 2.

Rams lose one, win one

Caitlyn Butterfield hit a bases clearing double in the top of the seventh to give Gorham a 6-5 win over Cheverus on Tuesday. The Stags had rallied with three runs in the sixth to take the lead before Butterfield’s double gave the Rams the winning runs.

In their previous game, the Rams were shutout by South Portland on the strength of Julie DiMatteo’s three-hitter. The Riots hung on for a slim 1-0 eight-inning win.

Tammie Arsenault matched DiMatteo through the first seven innings but an error in the eighth allowed the only run of the game to cross the plate.

Gorham stands at 3-2. They were scheduled to take on Portland on Wednesday.

Rams edge Blazes

The Westbrook softball team fell to Kennebunk in walk-off fashion with a passed ball in the bottom of the seventh, 3-2.

The Blazes outhit the Rams by a 6-4 margin and they scored single runs in the second and fifth innings. Ashlyn Bourgeois had two of the Blazes’ hits.

The Blazes find themselves in an 0-3 hole to start the season. They were scheduled to take on McAuley on Wednesday, May 2.
