On May 22, Westbrookâs citizens will have a golden opportunity to vote for a new middle school facility. Lets go for it!
There are 26 million-plus reasons why we need to vote YES on this middle school referendum. Here are five:
1. The existing facility is no longer adequate to meet the needs of our current or our future middle school population.
2. It is not practical or feasible to make the current facility adequate due to its proximity to existing power lines, ledge and State Department of Education requirements.
3. A prime location for the new middle school is now available.
4. The existing building/facilities will be put to good use by a number of community groups and organizations.
5. Twenty-six million reasons (dollars) will be provided by the state. This represents 88 percent of the cost for this project.
Therefore, citizens of Westbrook, I urge you to join me and vote yes for our new middle school.
