Church rummage sale
Trinity Circle at Cressey Road United Methodist Church is sponsoring a two-day rummage sale on Friday, April 27, and Saturday, April 28, at the church’s new location at the intersection of Route 25 and Cressey Road.
On Friday, the sale will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
Ruth Ayers, chairwoman, said the rummage sale will include clothes, dishes, books, furniture, toys, puzzles and small appliances, as well as perennial and house plants. Shoppers can fill a grocery bag for $1 at 11 a.m. on Saturday. “This has become known as one of the best recycling events around,” Ayers said.
Coffee, doughnut holes and muffins will be available.
The church is the former School Street United Methodist Church.
‘Cool Water’ at White Rock Grange
The White Rock Grange, 33 Wilson Road, presents the band Cool Water in concert 7-9 p.m. on Friday, April 20.
The band plays traditional country and cowboy music. Admission is $5 for an adult and free for children.
Historians to meet
Gorham Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 7, in the Gorham Savings Bank Operational Center off Gray Road.
Businessperson award
The Gorham Business & Civic Exchange is presenting its 2007 Business
Person of the Year Award on May 3 at an After-Hours Social hosted by
Steve Crockett of Crockett Interiors, 673 Main St., Gorham, from
5:30- 7 p.m.
Appetizers, wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages will
be served and guests are invited to relax and enjoy the furnishings in a social atmosphere.
“Last year’s award recipient, Virginia Wilder Cross, will be handing
over the ‘revolving plaque’ to the new winner,” said Trish Moulton,
president of the Business Exchange. Selection criteria is based on
being involved and promoting business in the Gorham community, serving as a leader or mentor, and being creative and imaginative in business. “Recognizing one’s contributions in this way is one of my favorite experiences,” she said.
