Bonny Eagle sophomore Dalton Groeger was recently selected as a first team Southwestern Maine Activities Association all-star wrestler. Groeger won the Class A state championship at 103 pounds and he wrestled at last month’s New England Interscholastic Championship in New Haven, Conn.

Two Bonny Eagle seniors also made the SMAA all-star wrestling team.

Bobby Dedovic was selected to the all-star second team at 130 pounds and he also made the SMAA all-academic team for his work in the classroom. Dedovic competed in the New England meet last month also.

Dan Avery was also selected to the SMAA all-star second team for his successful season at 285 pounds. Avery joined Dedovic as an all-academic pick as well.

The rest of the SMAA all-star first team included: 112- Jake Longley (Noble), 119 – Chris Smith (Deering), 125 – Zach Clarke (Sanford), 130 – Jake Badger (Noble), 135 – Peter Gilman (Massabesic), 140 – Joey Eon (Massabesic), 152 – Jon Hussey (Marshwood), 160 – Patrick Chute (Biddeford), 171 – Doug Williams (Sanford), 189 – Jesse Rayworth (Noble), 215 – Denton Weimer (Deering), and 285 – Corey Holland (Massabesic).

The other SMAA second team all-stars were: 103 – Gage DesRosier (Massabesic), 112 – John Hybers (Biddeford), 119 – Ryan Toussaint (Biddeford), 125 – Nick Spaulding (Massabesic), 135 – Peter Bronder (Noble), 140 – Chance Holton (Marshwood), 145 – Paul Rivard (Sanford), 152 – Russell Gray (Sanford), 160 – Ike Brochu (Massabesic), 171 – Josh Eon (Massabesic), 189 – Justin Toussaint (Biddeford), and 215 – Raistlin Delisle (Kennebunk).
