The Bonny Eagle and Windham boys and girls swim team competed in last weekend’s Southwestern South Division championship meets. The boys meet took place at Riverton Pool in Portland on Friday evening and the girls event was held in Cape Elizabeth on Saturday afternoon.

The Kennebunk boys won that side of the competition for the third year in a row. The Scots scored 85 points to finish seventh while Windham scored 15 points and finished 10th.

Bonny Eagle’s top swims came from Corey McGrath who placed second in both the 50 free and the 100 backstroke. The Scots also placed fifth in the 200 freestyle relay behind the efforts of Brandon Hale, Greg Judge, Greg Yum, and Corey McGrath.

The Bonny Eagle girls finished eighth with 118 points in the meet won by Kennebunk’s girls for the second straight year.

The Scots had two outstanding swims from Hannah Branch. She placed second in both the 200 individual medley and the 100 butterfly. The Scots also finished second in the 200 freestyle relay thanks to Aisling McGrath, Kate Higgins, Courtney Spencer and Hannah Branch.
