Buxton will decide whether the town buys a new police cruiser when citizens vote in a special town meeting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 14, in town hall, 185 Portland Road.

A new cruiser would replace one involved in an accident in December. The warrant asks for up to $12,155 toward the cruiser. The town collected $12,563 in insurance for a cruiser that was damaged when a York County Sheriff’s Department cruiser hit Buxton’s.

Voters will also consider two other money measures. An article on the warrant is for not more than $3,720 to cover emergency dispatch services from Feb. 1 through June 30. Another article seeks additional money to be added to three accounts – $338.33, ancient cemeteries; $3,987.70, retirement account; and $66.27, summer library.

Each of the amounts asked for in the three articles would come from the undesignated surplus account.
