The Bonny Eagle boys basketball team has been thrilling their fans all season with fantastic finishes. Tuesday was no exception as the Scots went to overtime to defeat Marshwood 68-57.

The game went back and forth with Bonny Eagle taking the lead in the first quarter by outscoring the Hawks 15-10. In the second, Marshwood outscored the Scots 17-13 to pull within one point at 28-27.

Marshwood forced overtime by tying the game at 55-55 in the fourth quarter.

The Scots dominated the extra frame and ended the game with a 13-2 run. Anthony Atkins led all scorers with 25 points. Other top scorers for the Scots were Mike Harmon with 14 points and Nate Doehler with 12.

The Scots improved to 10-5 with the win and will host Windham on Friday.

Windham beaten by Kennebunk

Windham lost a tough decision to Kennebunk, 58-46, in a very close contest on Tuesday night. The Eagles were able to stay with the Rams through all but the fourth quarter when they were outscored 13-6.

Kennebunk took the lead in the opening quarter, 15-14. The Eagles stuck close in the second quarter and headed to the locker room trailing by just three points, 30-27.

The second half became the Jon Fulford show as he propelled Kennebunk to the victory by scoring 16 of his 18 points in the third and fourth quarters.

With eight minutes to play, the Eagles were still within striking distance trailing by only five. But that’s as close as it got as Kennebunk pulled away at the end.

Windham drops to 5-10 and will travel to Standish to face Bonny Eagle on Friday.
