South Portland’s boys have now won two straight games and four of their last five after Saturday’s 53-42 home victory over Scarborough. The Red Riots took firm control from the outset out-scoring the Red Storm 16-3 in the first and increasing that advantage to 30-12 at the break.
The visitors rallied a bit in the second half of play, but they were too deep in a hole to climb all the way out.
Will Furbush led the Riots with 13 points and Coleman Findlay added 12.
Jordan Hicks led the Red Storm with 18 points.
South Portland played at Massabesic on Tuesday. The Riots are 9-5 and have moved up to fourth in the latest West A Heal Point standings.
Scarborough dropped to 6-8 with the loss and they were scheduled to host Westbrook on Tuesday. The Red Storm is 10th in the West A Heal Points race.
