A North Conway, N.H., woman has died following a three-car crash on Saturday on Route 25 in Gorham.
A spokesman for the Maine Medical Center in Portland said Monday Elizabeth Hanson, 64, died at 3 a.m. Sunday. Hanson had been hospitalized in critical condition. She was a passenger in a red Dodge Caravan in the accident on Brandy Brook Hill.
Police said the Dodge Caravan made what police believe was an unsafe lane change and hit a Ford F-150. The Caravan then crossed the center lane into opposing traffic, hit a Toyota Sienna, and rolled several times before landing on the passenger side of the vehicle.
According to police, two other occupants of the van were taken to the hospital by Gorham Fire and Rescue besides Hanson. Angela Eastman, 31, the driver, and another passenger, Danielle Bryan, 10, both of North Conway, N.H., received minor injuries.
The occupants of the two other vehicles were not injured.
Lt. Chris Sanborn of Gorham police said Monday that Sgt. David Hall of Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department is reconstructing the accident. Gorham Detective Dave Bruni is also investigating.
Sanborn said he was uncertain whether any charges would be filed.
