Who is Charlie Brown anyway? He is a famous fictional character created by cartoonist Charles M. Schultz in a weekly newspaper comic strip called “Peanuts.” It has been seen daily by thousands of readers’ worldwide since the early 1950s. You recognize Charlie Brown immediately always wearing in his black shorts and yellow T-shirt with a black zig-zag stripe around his middle. One of his most famous lines is “Good grief.” He is a lovable loser who’s often called “blockhead” by his friend, Lucy. He has a devoted gang of friends and an unforgettable dog.
There is Lucy, a crabby, bossy gal who owns a psychiatric booth. Linus, his best friend who is a philosopher and in constant need of his security blanket. Schroeder, a talented pianist who loves classical music and plays catcher on Chuck’s baseball team. Then there is Charlie Brown’s baby sister, Sally, who needs constant help with her homework and often gets on her brothers’ nerves. Then last but certainly not least is Charlie’s beloved beagle, Snoopy, which often prompts Charlie to say, “Why can’t I have a normal dog like everyone else?” Snoopy can always be found resting on the roof of his red doghouse unless he is fantasizing about being a World War I flying ace battling the Famous Red Baron. He, too, is also quite nifty serving as short stop on Charlie Brown’s baseball team.
