They’re off an running at the Portland Expo as the Southwestern Maine Activities Association began another indoor track season on Saturday. And it didn’t take the Scarborough boys and girls teams very long to show they were again going to be among the contenders for the league title.

The Red Storm girls scored 153.5 points to get by Bonny Eagle (134), Biddeford (64.5), South Portland (36), and McAuley (8).

Scarborough had first place finishes from Melissa Dellatore (junior 400), Cara Snyder (junior 45 hurdles), Catie Funk (junior shot put), Allison Chamberlain (senior 400), Hilary Curtis (senior 800), Annie Mills (senior 45 hurdles), Gordon (300), Erica Jesseman (mile), Kaitlynn Saldanha (600), and Lily Parenteau (high jump).

Dellatore was named the Junior athlete of the meet.

South Portland’s girls had a second place finishes from Lindsey Soule (senior 400), Kendall Morong (300), and Abbey Cook (600).

Scarborough’s boys scored 98 points to best Bonny Eagle (80), Biddeford (77), and South Portland (68).

The Red Storm boys had winning performances from Brendan Ham (junior 40 and 300), Jimmy Rouse (intermediate 300), Phil Lambert (senior 45 hurdles and the 200), Scott Delano (400), and Brecht Moulin (800).

The South Portland boys had first-place efforts from Ian Golder (senior 300), and Jonathan Cotton (high jump).
