Fire extensively damaged this home owned by Dr. Robert Love at 97 Main St., on Jan. 4, 1962. The blaze apparently started when Love’s 88-year-old mother, who was an invalid, brushed her clothing against an electric heater. Love’s wife pulled the woman, who received burns on her arms and forehead, outside to safety. The woman was taken to Files Nursing Home in Gorham.
