The Bonny Eagle High boys and girls swim teams traveled to Biddeford on Saturday for the first regular season meet of the year.
The Scots girls team had some fine efforts at the Northern York County YMCA pool and they came awya with an 85-76 victory.
The meet was close throughout with Bonny Eagle taking seven out of 12 races. They were able to hang on despite a late comeback attempt by the Tigers.
Bonny Eagle’s individual winners included Courtney Spencer (200 free), Hannah Branch (200 IM and 100 fly), Aisling McGrath (100 free), and Kate Higgins (100 breast).
The Scots also won the 200 medley relay (McGrath, Higgins, Branch, and Spencer) and the 400 freestyle relay ((McGrath, Higgins, Branch, and Spencer).
Biddeford’s individual winners included Christine Cote (50 free and 500 free), Angelica Anders (1-meter diving), and Hillary Dion (100 back).
The Biddeford boys team had a dominating performance winning 11 out of 12 events in that side of the competition. And the Tigers strong showing resulted in a 109-43 win.
Bonny Eagle’s lone victory came in the 100 yard backstroke where Corey McGrath won with a time of 1:05.24.
Biddeford’s individual winners included Andrew MacKeil (200 free and 100 fly), Adam Cyr (200 IM), MIchael Baker (50 free), Kevin Hatch (100 free), James Hatch (500 free), Jared Bourget (100 breast), and Jordan Cadorette (1-meter diving).
