The Westbrook High boys and girls swim teams both opened the season on Friday against Scarborough. The Red Storm girls eased past Westbrook, 135-47, while the boys slipped by the Blue Blazes, 92-91.
The Westbrook girls 200 medley relay team of Stephanie Lamson, Leah Grabarz, Kelly Smith and Inga Kwiatkowski placed second.
Individual winners for the Blue Blazes boys team were Matt Violette (200 free and 500 free), Jacob Wilson (200 IM and 100 fly), and Kyle Goan (100 free).
The Westbrook boys 200 medley relay team of Keegan Goan, Derek Hawkes, Matt Violette, and Jacob Wilson won the opening race of the meet. And the Westbrook boys 400 freestyle relay team of Wilson, Hawkes, Violette and Kyle Goan won the final race of the meet.
Individual winners for the Red Storm boys included: Kaycee Stevens (50 free), Sam Ledue (1-meter diving), Nick Twomey (100 back), and Jon Russell (100 breast).
Individual winners for the Red Storm girls included: Brittanie Bradley (200 free and 100 breast), Hanna Flewelling (200 IM), Allison Rogers (50 free and 100 free), Gayle Bufo (1-meter diving), Nicole Harmon (100 fly and 100 back), and Sarah Reynolds (500 free).
