Cinderella will be presented at Schoolhouse Arts Center at Sebago Lake from Dec. 1-17.

Rodgers & Hammerstein’s only musical written for television, Cinderella first aired on TV in 1957 with Julie Andrews in the title role and was seen by more than 107 million people. Presented for the first time as a stage musical in London in 1958, Cinderella has proven as popular in the theatre as on television. And, now this delightful musical is coming to the Schoolhouse Arts Center stage in Sebago Lake Village.

Cast members for this classic musical come from all over southern Maine from Biddeford to Oxford. They include Samantha Komulainen-York (Standish) as Cinderella, Nick Robertshaw (Windham) as Prince Christopher, Melissa Bornmann (Portland) as the Godmother, Sabrina Luy (Standish) as the Stepmother, Kelsey Franklin (Oxford) and Jessica Ernest (Gorham) as the Stepsisters, Rick Kusturin (Gorham) as the King, Marcy Parmenter (Limington) as the Queen, Adam Normand (Biddeford) as the Herald, Andrew Goodwin (South Portland) as the Chef, and Robert Mosey (Hollis) as the Steward. Other talented cast members include Nicole Avery, Samantha Avery, Rachel Cote, Tammy Craig, Sarah Davies, Andrew Deal, Ella Demetriou, Sara Dodge, Karla Fossett, Shane Giles, Chet Komulainen, Katie Kusturin, Nate Lawson, Austin Loukas, Reyleigh McKay, Adam Mosey, Shannon Mosey, Angelica Phipps, Elizabeth Phipps, Benjamin Row, Lynne Schabhetl, and Becca Voinche. Cinderella is directed by Meg Connell from Windham.

Audiences will be transported to a humble little cottage as they watch Cinderella singing “In My Own Little Corner.” They will watch as the Godmother magically transforms a simple pumpkin into a golden carriage while changing her song from “Impossible” to “It’s Possible.” And, they will travel to a land of castles and kings and dream with a young Prince as he sings “Do I Love You Because You’re Beautiful?” And, through it all they will laugh at the antics of the stepsisters and the easy relationship of the king and queen as they prepare for an elaborate ball.
