The Bonny Eagle Scots had a nice fall sports season. They got three of their teams into the playoffs.
The boys’ cross country team finished the year with two meet wins. They were led by strong performances from Noah Schoneberg, Murphy Doughty and Allen Cox.
The football team came up short in its bid for a third straight Class A crown. They went 8-0 in the regular season and seemed destined to threepeat. In the playoffs, however, Deering got the best of them in the semi-finals.
The boys’ soccer team went 6-5-3 in the regular season and qualified for the playoffs. In the preliminary round, they defeated Thornton Academy. They lost to eventual western champion Scarborough in the next round.
The field hockey team had a great regular season going 11-1-2. They knocked Deering out of the playoffs before being knocked out themselves by Gorham.
The golf team put together a good season with five wins out of their ten matches.
The girls’ cross country team won three meets during the regular season. Katherine Pagano won five races and finished 8th in the state meet. The Scots also got strong performances from Lauren Dudley who finished 7th in the state.
The girls’ soccer team finished 3-9-2 and missed the playoffs. They got a good all around team effort with no one player dominating on the field. They got goals from most members of the team.
