The Cape Elizabeth field hockey team had two players selected for this year’s Western Maine Conference Class B all-star team.
Maureen Kertes and Meghan Knowles both made the squad based on their solid and consistent play this past season.
The Capers finished with a 5-8-1 regular season record, good enough for No. 10 in the West B standings. Their season ended with a 1-0 loss at Wells in the preliminary round.
The Western Maine Conference Class B all-star team also included: Michaela Franey, Lauren Coupal, Katherine Lindbom, Caitlin Keating, and Kortnee Cribby from York; Kelsey Powers, Kayla Nowell, and Amanda Nadeau of Lake Region; Emily Bowden, Eileen Brandes and Lauren Girouard of Falmouth; Alex Andrews, Makenzie Ross, and Moreen Nickerson of Greely; Brianne McInnis and Elsie Russell of Fryeburg Academy; and Kirsten Ganslow, Carlie Vanasse, and Katelyn Lewia of Wells.
The Class B Player of the Year was Michaela Franey of York.
The Western Maine Conference Class C all-star team included: Meagan Donovan, Sara Lane, Mazie Pierce, and Kayla Cowley of Sacopee Valley; Chelsea St. Onge-May, Katie Landry, Mary Lewis, Lauren Clark and Annie Butts of St. Dom’s; Ingrid Knowles, Allie Tucci and Sarah Holden of North Yarmouth Academy; Emily Hinkle, Heather Orr, and Sam Martin of Traip Academy; Courtney Rague. Kristi Geaumont and Ashley Hibbard of Old Orchard Beach; Chelsea Smith and Emily Norris of Waynflete; and Kylen Donovan and Nichole Engle of Freeport.
The Class C Player of the Year was Ingrid Knowles of North Yarmouth Academy.
