The Southwestern Maine Activities Association recently announced their 2006 boys cross country all-star team.

Noah Schoneberg of Bonny Eagle was named a second team all-star this season for his solid performances during the fall’s 5K races.

The SMAA first team all-star team also includes: Justin Laverriere of Biddeford; Bobby Britten of Cheverus; Travis Griffin and Ben Talbot of Scarborough; Tim Millett of Gorham; John Misener of Deering; and Jesse Young of Marshwood.

Joining Schoneberg on the second team are: Ben Rumery of Thornton Academy; Seth Crockett Bosco Oringa of Portland; Taylor Dundas of Cheverus; David Knowland of South Portland; and Brecht Moulin of Scarborough.

Honorable mention selections went to: Kyle Beaudoin of Sanford; Jon Fulford of Kennebunk; Bo Sinnott of Noble; and Mike Tinkham of Massabesic.

The SMAA Runner of the Year was John Misener of Deering and the SMAA Coach of the Year was James Harmon of Scarborough.

The SMAA also announced the girls cross country all-star team.

Bonny Eagle runners Lauren Dudley and Katherine Pagano were both selecfted to the SMAA second team all-stars.

The first team all-star squad includes: Marie Lemay of Thornton Academy; Victoria Hewey of Sanford; Abigail Iselborn of McAuley; Erica Jesseman and Kaitlynn Saldanha of Scarborough; Amelia Lundkvist of Cheverus; and Rachel Wilkinson of Gorham.

The second team also included: Jessica Groth of Cheverus; Hannah Johnston and Hannah Wiley of Kennebunk; Olivia MacKenzie of McAuley; and Kayla Phinney of Windham.

Others who received the honorable mention distinction included: Lucia Anderson of Deering; Jackie Cote of Westbrook; Becky Cunningham of Marshwood; Olivia Hendry of South Portland; Kendra Johnson of Massabesic; Charlotte McDonald of Portland; and Bette Starmerch of Noble.
