The Campbell Conference football schools held their annual end of season banquet in Portland on Sunday evening and Cape Elizabeth was well represented at the event.
Senior Devon Freitas, senior Jon Lavallee, sophomore Nathaniel Lavallee, junior Sean Meagher, and senior Tucker Emerson were all selected as conference all-stars in the Class B division. The five players helped the Capers to a 9-2 record and a runner-up finish in Western Maine Class B.
Freitas was a standout at offensive guard and defensive tackle; Jon Lavallee was powerful offensive and defensive tackle; younger brother Nathaniel played offensive guard and defensive tackle; Meagher was a hard running fullback and top-notch linebacker; and Emerson had a strong season at tight end and free safety.
The rest of the Class B Campbell Conference All-Stars were: Shane Beal of Gray-New Gloucester; Nick Ford and Ben Millick from Falmouth; Sequoyah Reynoso from Fryeburg Academy; Sean Vaughan-Smith, Caleb Jordan, Jameel Moore and Matt Harris from Greely; Lee Maher from Lake Region; Andy Shorey, Thaddeus Bennett, Kyle Dow, Matt Glover, Devin Roberts, and Justin Staires from Mountain Valley; Joe Douglass from Poland; David Cary, Colby Sholler, Mike Cooledge, and Ryan Vartanian from Wells; And Ryan Vokey, Zach Prugar, Jon Jiminez, Tim Jones, and Gene Jones from York.
The Campbell Conference Class B Player of the Year was Andy Shorey of Mountain Valley and the Campbell Conference Class B Coach of the Year was Jim Aylward of Mountain Valley.
The Campbell Conference Class C all-star team included: Kyle Murphy and Andy St. Michael of Old Orchard Beach; Roy Arsenault, Adam Climo, Pat Norton, and Chris Noonan of Boothbay; Kevin O’Leary and Josh Daley of Dirigo; Trevor McCourt, Mike Holland, and Isaac Leblanc of Jay; Dan Willis, Joe Stevens, Devan Knight, Jesse Moan, Ryan Giusto and Mark Stambach of Lisbon; Mike Durrell, Mark O’Shea, Rory Young, Craig Jackman, and Kevin Gats of Livermore Falls; Ryan Carpenter of Madison; Isaiah Plummer and Jay Nay of Traip Academy; and Jake Steele and Josh Dubois of Winthrop.
The Campbell Conference Class C Player of the Year was Mark O’Shea of Livermore Falls and the Campbell Conference Class C Coach of the Year was Brad Bishop of Livermore Falls.
