Editor,
I would like to extend my deep appreciation to the many people who supported me during the most recent election. I consider it a high honor to be chosen to represent everyone in Senate District 12.
It was especially heartwarming to receive such substantial support from Democrats and Republicans as well as Independents and Greens. I consider this responsibility to be chosen to represent my constituents in the Senate very seriously and appreciate your confidence.
It is clear to me that the people in this district want the legislature to pass meaningful tax reform and I will be working hard to create and pass legislation to do just that. Successful tax reform will require a bipartisan effort, and I’m confident that members of both political parties will work together to make that happen.
I look forward to beginning this important work as soon as possible and welcome ideas and comments from the people in my district throughout the legislative session.
