In the next few weeks, drivers using Route 114 in Standish can expect traffic delays due to construction.
In August, a two-year project was started on Route 114 ranging from College Avenue in Gorham Village continuing to the routes 35 and 114 intersection in Sebago Lake Village to make a variety of improvements to the road. The construction areas spans a little more than seven miles.
Improvements to the road will include tree removal, water pipe replacements, rebuilding of the roadbed, straightening of curves in the road, widening and paving.
The construction project cost $6.6 million and is being completed by R.J. Grondin & Sons. Motorists can expect flaggers and one-lane travel lanes on various sections of Route 114.
The road is currently reduced to one lane in the Sebago Lake region due to tree removal and paving. Drivers can expect periods of delay in that section through the next few weeks. Traffic delays on the road will continue until the project’s end in November 2007.
