Warren Furniture Co. occupied this building, left photo, on Main Street at Bridge Street for many years. It was built in 1890 by Lewis W. Edwards to replace a large wooden building in which Edwards had a store and a meeting hall. The hall, which was located on the Bridge Street side of the building, was known as Small’s Hall, and at one time the Baptists and Episcopalians held services there. Edwards operated his store in this building for several years. F.W. Woolworth Co. later had a store here prior to Warren Furniture Co. taking over the building. The Westbrook Telephone Exchange was located in the second floor front from 1907 to 1917. Warren Furniture recently closed, and the building is now occupied by Portland Pie Co.
