Would you support making transfat illegal?
Robert Couture, 76, Naples
“I’m in favor of the bill that would reduce the use of transfat. Right now, I feel there are so many obese people around that are not aware of what they’re eating. One of the big factors is that parents are on the run and they don’t eat around the table. They stop at drive-thrus for dinner, which are a major source of transfat.”
Hannah Burke, 37, Windham
“If I want transfat, I want transfat. I’m a big fan of transfat. And I’m a grown-up and I should be able to choose.”
Pamela Loft, 64, Windham
“I consider it to when they took out saccharin. What replaced it wasn’t better, it was different. Complying with the removal of saccharin required new recipes for all the manufactured goods, which was very expensive and pointless.”
Scott Gilbert, 44, Naples
“Yes, I would. It sounds like from what I’m hearing it’s very unhealthy. And there doesn’t seem to be any reason why they use it. It might be cheaper but that’s not a good excuse.”
Daniel Engelhardt, 28, Naples
“No, I wouldn’t. It’s just another step for the government to dictate what you eat and how to stay healthy. They’re taking our choice away.”
