The late Dewayn Shaw of Gorham owned this 1946 Lacombe aircraft. It’s pictured here in about 1960, on the former Portland and Rochester Railroad right-of-way, across New Portland Road from the present-day Dodge Oil Co. The single-engine plane had two seats. Shaw removed the railroad tracks and graded the bed for an airstrip to land his plane.
