This old building on Bridgton Road at Duck Pond Road, shown on the left, housed a general store and post office, which was owned and operated by Alvin Dyer Woodbury when this photo was taken.The stagecoach in the photo transported passengers and mail to and from Portland and North Windham. James Gowen bought and ran the store and post office for a number of years before selling it to P.D. Burns. The building burned down in 1926. Highland Variety Store now occupies this site.
