Gorham (3-0) at Windham (2-1)
Gorham running back Justin Villacci sat out Gorham’s 43-21 win over Cheverus last week, but Jon Mitchell filled in well, running for 163 yards on 15 carries and scoring two touchdowns.
Unfortunately for Windham, Gorham should have both backs available Friday. Last week the Eagles’ defense allowed Bonny Eagle running back Scott Proudman four touchdowns and over 10 yards per carry.
The Rams dominate teams on the ground and Windham should be no exception.
Prediction: Gorham 37, Windham 10
Bonny Eagle (3-0) @ Portland (1-2)
Losers of two in a row, Portland is facing an undefeated team for the third straight week. Bonny Eagle rolled against Windham last week behind Scott Proudman and his four touchdowns.
Both teams are capable of big plays on offense, with quarterback Chris Treister leading the way for Portland and the speedster Proudman providing the biggest threat for Bonny Eagle.
The Bulldogs, returning home after playing the last two weeks on the road, will not lose their third in a row.
Prediction: Portland 33, Bonny Eagle 31
Gray-New Gloucester (0-3) @ Lake Region (0-3)
The good news for Lake Region is their defense allowed only six points against Wells last week. The bad news is the offense scored none.
Wait – there’s more good news. The Lakers face off against a winless G-NG team this week. The Patriots fell to a powerful Mountain Valley team last week, 42-0.
Prediction: Lake Region 17, Gray-New Gloucester 10
Last week’s record: 2-0
