Four candidates in Gorham had submitted nomination papers by late Friday afternoon, Sept. 15, for the two open seats on the town council.
Town Clerk Christina Silberman said Friday that the candidates so far are Brenda Caldwell, Philip Csoros, David Homa and Shonn Moulton. Two incumbents, Calvin Hamblen and Matthew Robinson, have announced that they are not seeking re-election.
Caldwell is Gorham’s former town clerk, who retired in December of 2004 after 28 years.
For the school committee, Jim Hager, current chairman, is the only candidate who has submitted papers. But incumbent Marie South said recently she would seek another term. Two seats are available for the school committee.
The council and school committee seats are all three-year terms.
Candidates for the municipal posts have until 4:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, to submit their nominations for their names to appear on the ballot. The election is Tuesday, Nov. 7.
