There will be a special meeting of the Westbrook School Committee’s policy committee on Wednesday, Sept. 13, at the school department’s central offices at 7:30 a.m. to discuss the department’s code of conduct for students participating in athletics or other activities.

The meeting will focus on student drug and alcohol use and recent events where at least 10 students were suspended from sporting events because of violations of the code. The intent of the meeting is to explore the intent of the code of conduct and engage several of the suspended students, as well as parents, administrators and community members. The meeting is open to the public.
