The Maine Department of Transportation will hold a public informational meeting on a proposed bypass, aimed at reducing congestion in Gorham Village, Monday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m., at Gorham High School.

Heath Cowan, project manager for the transportation department, will present a preliminary design for the project.

As proposed, it would bypass Gorham Village on a southwesterly route connecting South Street between Waterhouse and Straw roads with Route 25 west of the village. It would intersect Route 202, and would have a bridge at Flaggy Meadow Road.
