Gray Village Master Plan Advisory Committee invites you to attend a Public Forum on Thursday, Sept. 21, from 6:30 to 8:30 at Spring Meadows Banquet Center on Route 100 in Gray.

Greater Portland Council of Governments will present highlights from the Master Plan final report. The citizen’s committee will share its views.

It’s been an interesting experience to learn about the village. It’s not so much about buildings. It’s more about people and what they need in their Village. For instance, did you know that 1,000 people live within walking distance of the village?

If you own property or do business in the Village area, this is the time to come to the table. The report offers several recommendations and proposals that potentially directly affect you and your pocketbook.

What about the traffic? Turns out there are several common sense options so that pedestrians, bicyclists, and automobiles can coexist – safely. Some will impact business and home owners, such as proposed sidewalk improvements, curb cut alterations, and facade improvements. The report recommends more medians – come find out why!

There are several options for “sprucing” up the Village. Some will affect property owners. When you look at combining work already done by other committees with new changes in funding opportunities, we have a high likelihood of success improving the Village.

Come to the forum and tell us what you think!
