Celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary are Mr. and Mrs. Donald H. Sawyer of Standish.
Donald Sawyer and the former Eleanor Mae Holmes were married on June 23, 1956 at the Standish Congregational Church on Oak Hill Road in Standish. A celebration hosted by their children was held at the recently rebuilt Standish Congregational Church on June 24.
Their children are Laurie Woodman and her husband John of Biddeford, Eric Sawyer and his wife Pamela of Standish, and Brian Sawyer and his wife Debra of Clayton, North Carolina. They have seven grandchildren, Alexandria and April Woodman, Eric, Amber and Blaine Sawyer, and Tyler and Jacob Sawyer.
Mr. Sawyer worked for the Standish Telephone Company and Mrs. Sawyer taught kindergarten at H.B. Emery School in Limington. Both are now retired.
