Victoria James, a local singer and songwriter, will be presenting her latest CD, Art of Love, in concert on Saturday, Sept. 16 at Windham Baptist Church on River Road in Windham. The concert begins at 7 p.m. and tickets ($6 each) are available at the church or by calling 892-3652.

Victoria James has written, played, and sung gospel music for more than 20 years. She has often shared her talents within the local church, adding immensely to their music ministry.

From a very early age, she recognized her passion for music and by the age of 10 was already writing lyrics and playing them on guitar. Along with her music career, Ms. James is happily married and the mother of two teenage boys. She is also a second grade teacher at Songo Locks School in Naples, Maine. She resides in Casco, with her husband, Peter Norris, and their two boys.

Ms. James will showcase her original music, including the seven songs that she wrote for Kathryn Mackel’s novels, published by WestBow Press. Ms. Mackel will also appear, describing their collaboration of song and writing.

On Sunday, Sept. 17, Ms. James will be presenting a program at the Casco Library on How to Produce a CD. Ms. Mackel will join her, speaking on How to Get Published. Ms. Mackel is the author of the bestselling Can of Worms (Harper Collins) as well as five other children’s books and four supernatural thrillers for adults (WestBow Press). She is also a produced screenwriter, having worked for Fox, Showtime, and Disney, and a nationally-recognized teacher of fiction.

The program will begin at 2 p.m. and is open to the public, free of charge. Following the discussion, James and Mackel will be available to sign their books and CDs.
