To Foxwoods
Rose Burke, William Knight Road, and Mary Bouchard of Falmouth Road recently spent a few days at Foxwoods. They had a great time.
Public Supper
A public ham and bean supper will be held Sept. 9 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Windham Hill United Chuch of Christ, 140 Windham Center Road. The menu includes: ham and hot dogs, three varieties of beans, potato salad, tossed salad, macaroni and cheese, brown bread and biscuits, homemade pies, coffee, tea and punch. The donation is $6 for adults and $2.50 for children 12 and under.
Veterans
Mr. Robin Shepard, State of Maine Veterans Advocate, will be at the Windham Veterans Center on Wednesday, Sept. 13, from 9 to 11 a.m. He will assist veterans in applying for benefits. There is no charge for this service and no appointment is necessary.
Yard Sale
There will be a multi-family yard sale Sept. 9 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Odd Fellows Hall for the benefit of the Windham Historical Society. The Swan Right of Way group will also be there holding a yard sale.
Disney Collectibles
There is an impressive selection of Disney collectibles from young Michael Devine of Windham on display at the Windham Public Library through Sept. 22. There are many collectibles on display including movies, CDs, mugs and a lunch box. Children and Disney-lovers will especially want to stop by the library for a look at this wonderful collection.
Blueberry festival
Town Clerk Linda Morrell, of Haskell Road, went to the Blueberry Festival Aug. 18-21 in Machias, Maine. Joining Linda for the trip were: her mother, her niece, her aunt and three cousins. They enjoyed the festival and the time together.
Windsor Fair
Alan O’Brien, of Haskell Road, showed his cattle at the Windsor Fair and in the 4-H show he took three 1st places and two 2nd places. In the farm open show he took a 1st, 2nd and a 3rd place. He did really well there this year. He will show next at the Eastern States Fair in Springfield, Mass.
