The photo at left was taken around 1920 and it shows a view looking towards Main Street from Bridge Street.
The large building on the left is the rear of the Westbrook Hammock Factory that was located in the rear of the J.W.Morris Grist Mill that was located on Main Street opposite Central Street. In 1932, a fire severely damaged the building and it was later demolished. The three-story building in the center of photo was the Odd Fellows Hall located across Main Street (later home the Brooks Theater and American Legion Post No. 197).
The building on the right is the Armory Apartments, which are located at 901 Main St.
In later years, the municipal parking lot and a gas station occupied this site. Urban Renewal acquired the property and built the Bridge Street Spur and Saccarappa Park.
