The Westbrook School Department is welcoming the following new staff members for the upcoming school year.

Mary Armstrong, Title IA reading teacher – Saccarappa and Prides Corner School Armstrong has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Maine in Farmington. She was employed as a Title I Coordinator for the Lewiston School Department.

Annemarie Baldwin, speech / language pathologist

Baldwin has a bachelor’s degree in music theory and composition from the American University, a master teacher diploma from Kodaly Musical Training Institute in Wellesley, Mass. and Kodaly Zenepedegogiai Intezet in Kecskemet, Hungary and a master’s degree in speech/language pathology from George Washington University. She was a speech/language pathologist for SAD 6.

Shannon Belt, science teacher – Westbrook High School

Belt has a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh and a master’s in adolescence earth science and general science for grades 7 – 12 from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. Belt was a student teacher at Saratoga Springs City School District in New York.

Cheryl Bilodeau, food service worker – Westbrook High School

Bilodeau has been a substitute food service employee for the Westbrook School Department.

Bradley Brown, technology support technician

Brown has numerous computer skills and was employed with WordWrap.

William Brown, computer programming instructor – Westbrook Regional Vocational Center

Brown has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Maine in Orono. He was a former math teacher at South Portland High School and recently employed with Drillen Hardware.

Katherine Brunette, special education teacher – Wescott Junior High School

Brunette has a bachelor’s degree in education from Thomas College. She was employed as special education teacher for the Raymond School Department

Sandra Burns, attendance officer

Burns is a crossing guard for the city of Westbrook.

Kathryn Capetta, grade 5 teacher – Congin School

Capetta has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Maine in Farmington. She was a multi-age teacher for grades 2 – 5 at Cricket Hunt School in Freeport.

Rachel Conley, bus driver

Conley was previously employed with the Westbrook School Department but left to home school her daughter.

Carol Connor, 2/5 art director

Connor has a bachelor’s degree in art from Gorham State College. She recently retired from teaching after 40 years with the Westbrook School Department.

Jennifer Curtis, consulting teacher for language arts and literacy specialist – Canal School

Curtis has a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts and a master’s degree in education from Goddard College and a CAS in literacy education from the University of Southern Maine. She is currently a reading recovery teacher / literacy specialist at Bonny Eagle School.

Day has a bachelor’s degree from Bates College and was recently self-employed as a full charge bookkeeper.

Sara Deprey, lead custodian – city of Westbrook

Deprey graduated from South Portland High School and was recently employed with Benchmark.

Brianna DeRice, alternative learning ed tech III, Wescott Junior High School

DeRice has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Southern Maine. She was a behavioral support specialist and youth and family counselor for Sweetser Schools in Saco.

Debbie Dill, Title IA and special education – Canal School

Dill has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Maine and a master’s degree in business from Husson College. She was the long-term substitute for Title IA at Canal School.

Karen Emery, technology integrator – Wescott Junior High School

Emery has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and speech communication from the University of Maine and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern Maine. Emery was a substitute teacher for the Westbrook School Department.

Fortin has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Maine in Orono. He recently graduated magna cum laude.

Frank Fusillo, lead custodian – Westbrook High School

Mr. Fusillo is a graduate of Bonny Eagle High School.

Clare Harrington, Title I A math teacher – Congin School

Harrington has a bachelor’s degree in economics and Spanish from Ohio Wesleyan University and a master’s degree in elementary education from Wheelock College. She was employed as an everyday mathematics consultant for Bath Public Schools.

Christine Herbert, noon duty aide / ed tech I – Wescott Junior High School

Herbert has an associate’s degree in computer from Andover College. She was employed as a substitute teacher.

Howard-O’Reilly has a bachelor’s degree in history from Hobart and Will-Smith Colleges. She was employed as special education teacher for the Biddeford School Department

Leah Hobson, kindergarten Teacher – Prides Corner School

Hobson has a bachelor’s degree in education from Keene State College. She was employed as an education technician III with the South Portland School Department.

Tracy Jack, noon duty aide and literacy lab ed tech I – Saccarappa School

Jack is a stay-at-home mother who previously taught in the Lewiston Schools as a special education teacher.

Kantolak has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Southern Maine. She was employed as a Title IA ed tech III at the Windham Primary School.

She was the manager of customer services for the Johns Manville Corporation.

William Leque, mathematics teacher – Westbrook High School

Leque has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Washington, in Seattle, Wash. Leque is a naval flight officer in the United State Navy Reserves and recently completed the ETEP program from the University of Southern Maine.

Merrifield was a full-time student and a substitute teacher for the Westbrook and Windham school departments.

Melissa Perkins, half-time art teacher – Westbrook High School

Perkins has a bachelor’s degree in art education from the University of Southern Maine. She was employed with the Auburn School Department.

Sampson has a bachelor’s degree in physical education from the University of Maine in Presque Isle and a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Southern Maine. He was employed as the athletic / activities director for SAD 61 in Naples.

Jillann Wagner, grade 5 teacher – Canal School

Wagner has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Governor’s State University.

Anne Willett, half-time math lab – Wescott Junior High School

Willett has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts. She was employed as a mathematics teacher at the Brattleboro Area Middle School in Vermont.
