The University of Southern Maine Lifeline Program is offering a variety of ongoing fitness classes.

Enhance Fitness is a group-exercise program for those 60 years and older, designed to improve strength, balance, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness. Classes are every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 10:15-11:15 a.m.

On The Ball is a group-exercise program utilizing a fit ball to increase core and functional strength, flexibility and balance, and to improve posture. Classes are Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 6:15 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The costs for these classes vary.

GOALS (Great Outcomes At Lifeline) is a three-month, individualized, supervised strength and conditioning exercise and nutrition program developed and monitored by certified Lifeline instructors. It is offered seven days a week. The fee is $155, plus the cost of evaluation

All programs take place at the Sullivan gym on the Portland campus, behind Oakhurst Dairy on Falmouth Street.
