Phil and Cora Moody recently returned home from Oklahoma City. They attended the International Organization of Rainbow Girls Supreme Assembly. This occurs every two years. Cora was elected to the position of “Faith” for the next two years.

ATV Club

The Windham Wheelers ATV Club will meet Tuesday, Aug. 15, at 7 p.m. at the East Windham Fire Barn. The club held a charity ride Aug. 5, to benefit multiple charities. For more information on the club contact Kevin Bailey at 892-0664 or Chris Charbonneau at 893-8246.

Meeting

The Lake Region Shriners will meet at Charlie Beiggs Restaurant Tuesday, Aug. 15, at 5 p.m. Spouses of members are also invited.

Birthday

Elsie Haskell, Nash Road, celebrated her birthday Aug. 8. She celebrated with family.

Granddaughter

Bill and Jane Diamond, Windham Center Road, are proud grandparents once again. Ava Claire Dumont, was born to Kristin and J.P. Dumont July 17 in Williamsville, New York. Bill, Jane and grandmother, Emma Estes, were there. Ava has an older sister, Ella. Johanne and Piere Dumont of Montreal are also grandparents and Wert and Elsie Emery of West Gardiner are Great Grandparents.

Reminder

There will be a public ham and bean supper August 12 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Windham Hill Church. Donations are $6 for adults and $2.50 for children 12 and under.

Library

An impressive selection of Disney collectibles from young collector Michael Devine of Windham will be on display through Sept. 22. Devine received his first Disney movie when he was 2 years old and has collected various Disney items since then. On display at the Windham Public Library are a large assortment from Devine’s collection of 100 Disney toys from McDonalds, including Steam Boat Willy and Mickey Mouse’s first movie, in 1928. There are other collectibles on display as well, including movies, CDs, mugs and a lunch box. Children and Disney-lovers will certainly enjoy this display.

Several Windham residents attended the Swegustagoe Council #49 meeting of the Cumberland Pocahontas on Aug. 5.
