When intern Larissa Curlik starts her senior year at Bowdoin in the fall, she will have a summer’s worth of growing experience to bring back with her. “Cultivating Community was a perfect fit for me,” said Curlik as she planted seedlings at the Meserve Farm in Scarborough.

Ikram Mohamad, standing, and Nasia Ashkir were in their sixth week of gardening for Cultivating Community, and the weeding still wasn’t any easier. To take breaks from the chore they occasionally started a few mud fights.
