This building is at the corner of Main and South streets in Gorham Village. In this historic photo, the sign over the door identifies the store as Fillebrown Bros. It’s now Amato’s sandwich shop. Over the years, the building housed the Gorham Hardware, Salvation Army Store and Fred Small’s law office.
Fire in 1892 destroyed a former store at this site, according to “The Way It Was in Gorham” by Bertha Bridges Willis.
