Gorham police said last week that they found a local teenage girl who had been missing for nearly 24 hours.
Lt. Chris Sanborn of the Gorham Police Department said Allison Beaumier, 16, was found at 5 p.m. on June 27 at a residence in Gorham. Sanborn said the girl hadn’t left the greater Portland area. Police acted on tips that she had been with a friend locally.
Sanborn said that the girl, who was not harmed, had not been abducted and no crime had been committed.
Beaumier was reported missing at 8:30 p.m. on June 26 by her parents, Calvin and Lisa Beaumier of Deering Road. Police first thought the missing teenager might have gone to Florida or California with a man she met on the Web site MySpace.com
Lisa Beaumier said her daughter, a Gorham High School junior, left notes behind and one note found by a family member indicated she could be headed for California. “We’re really not sure,” Lisa Beaumier said last week before police located her daughter.
A four-man Gorham police team searched for the girl. Officer Todd Gagnon was the lead investigator on that team that included detectives Dave Bruni and Larry Fearon along with Sanborn.
